CreateAndExpand was founded in 2021 by Amanda Calitz and is a space where women and girls can collaborate, tell their stories, and create games and simulations that will benefit Africa. Games with African characters and storylines will encourage girls to think out of the box and give them wings to fly. The focus of CreateandExpand is STE(A)M but all types of games will be created. Boys will not be excluded but the focus is on girls.
CreateAndExpand offers the following:
- Consultation: Game-based learning and gamification. How, what, and why
- Workshops for children, parents, and teachers
- Game design camps
- Design of games for third parties
If you have a story to tell or want to learn more about games and simulations please reach out to us.
The story of
Amanda has been a leader from a young age and has been interested in working in the community. Her parents were missionaries and she grew up with an understanding the people need to look after each other and look out for each other.
At the age of 16 in 1997, she was invited to Ghana and the United Kingdom as part of the Peace Child International project to attend conferences. Her dad accompanied her to Ghana but she went to the United Kingdom on her own.
