Create and Expand Areas of Interest

CreateAndExpand was founded in 2021 and is a space where women and girls can collaborate, tell their stories, and create games and simulations that will benefit Africa. Games with African characters and storylines will encourage girls to think out of the box and give them wings to fly. The focus of CreateandExpand is STE(A)M but all types of games will be created.  Boys will not be excluded but the focus is on girls.

CreateAndExpand offers the following:

 

Consultation
Game-based learning and gamification. How, what, and why
Workshops for children, parents & teachers.
Game design camps.
Design of games for third parties.

Judge at the 2021 GEE Awards

In the spirit of James Paul Gee, we’re looking for video games that are fun, educational, and novel. Finalists will showcase their games online during the virtual Play Make Learn conference on August 5-6. Send us your best!

Techwomen 2020-2021 Fellow

TechWomen empowers, connects and supports women leaders in STEM through project-based mentorships, professional development workshops and networking events at leading companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a 2020-2021 Techwomen emerging leader Amanda was mentored by the following mentors: (1) Mahima Venkatesh | LinkedIn and Stephanie Guevara | LinkedIn  Jeannice Fairrer Samani Diane Manning | LinkedIn Cynthia Chin-Lee | LinkedIn and Rogeema Kenny | LinkedIn Amanda was placed at Twitter to do a month-long fellowship.

Letsatsi STEM

Letsatsi STEM started as a project that formed part of the TechWomen_2020_2021 program. Amanda, Reneiloe Seodigeng | LinkedIn, and Senele Goba | LinkedIn decided to carry on with the project after the Techwomen program. They are developing a tool to bring STEM to everyone. The project will launch officially in June 2021.
